Trade Diplomacy
International trade has become the most dynamic area of the globalizing world. The global movement of goods, services and financial resources has increased tremendously over the last 30-35 years. Merchants who wanted to expand abroad and export goods/services thus became international actors. Contacts with counterparts in other countries increased. It is seen that those who operate in this field fulfill an important duty as public diplomats, as they represent the values of the country they belong to, due to the role they undertake. For this reason, international trade should now be seen as an area of public diplomacy.
