City Diplomacy
City governments in almost every country in the world establish "diplomatic" relations between cities as "sisters" with other countries. This widespread practice has economic, touristic and cultural benefits and brings people living in these cities closer to each other. There are signs at the entrance of many cities showing which cities have sister city relationships. City diplomacy, or “paradiplomacy” as it has been used recently, that is, international local diplomacy, has become a unique and valuable field of public diplomacy.
